Online Process (Recommended)
This is the quickest way to replace your registration. You can print a temporary copy immediately.
- Visit the CT DMV Website: Navigate to the official Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles online portal for duplicate registrations.
- Enter Vehicle Information: You will need to provide your license plate number and class.
- Provide Identification: Enter your individual or organization name exactly as it appears on your registration, along with your CT Driver's License or ID number.
- Pay the Fee: Use a credit or debit card to pay the required fee.
- Print Temporary Registration: Once the transaction is complete, you can download and print a temporary registration certificate valid for 10 days. Your official duplicate will be mailed to you.
